2025 Gift of Love Project

The Gift of Love Project provides gifts to children in need living in the Housing Authority of Baltimore City’s public housing and Housing Choice Voucher communities. 

Each family is selected by a team of staff based on each individual families need. Sponsors select families to provide gifts to the children for the holiday season. HABC staff, friends and community partners contribute and participate in the yearly event. The Gift of Love project first launched 20 years ago in 2003.

The Gift of Love Project embodies the spirit of HABC’s Four C’s: 

Communication, Customer Service, Collaboration and Community

This program brings joy to the people we serve in our community. 

Here’s how the Gift of Love Project works:

• Children between the ages of 0–12 are identified.

• Ornaments representing the names of children from each deserving family will be placed on the Christmas Tree for folks to choose their family.

• Employees and friends sponsor a child/children and then purchase gift(s).

• Employees within departments can also join efforts by sponsoring an entire household.
